This Lifestyle brand earring jewelry product photoshoot was for an earring company called Groovy Peach! I loved photographing this brand with models for a lifestyle shoot! We rented out a studio and had lots of models come in to wear the earrings. Creative director for this shoot was one of the owners of Groovy Peach. She did a great job of putting outfits together and picking models, and styling each ear with so much thought! The more thought that goes into the planning before the shoot, the better the images turn out!

Hobble Creek Canyon Winter Photoshoot

Winter Family Photographer at Jolley's Ranch in Springville, Utah

Jolley's Ranch in Hobble Creek Canyon located in Springville, Utah is such a great location for Family Photography in the winter. It features pine trees, which stay green all year round, a white barn, a white fence, and a big snowy field with mountain views (if there is snow, this year was a late winter).

It takes under 10 minutes to get to this location from the base of the canyon. You can park in the parking lot, and walk to most of the locations from there.

Because it has such a big open area, its the perfectly place for large family pictures and extended family pictures too.

Vineyard Indoor Greenhouse Family Photographer

Unsure where to take your family pictures in Utah? I highly recommend a greenhouse! This family chose Shade Home and Garden Greenhouse in Vineyard, UT.

Not only does it keep you and your kids cool and dry in the summer, and warm and dray in the winter, which is a HUGE plus during unexpected or extreme temperatures, but it also gives you that summery, green vibe you just can't find anywhere else all year round. If I'm being honest, I like the greenhouses better than the studios! I just think they are so gorgeous.

Shade Home and Garden has a big venue area to rent out that is also used for weddings or other events. Then we were also able to use other parts of the greenhouse with all the plants. They had a cute couch set up in there, and lights from the ceiling and you just can't get that look anywhere else.

This was perfect for an indoor family photo shoot because we were able to use tons of different areas for lots of variety. This was my first time photographing this cute family and I was so happy they chose me!

Valentines Themed Children Portraits

Studio Cake Smash Photoshoot

For a first birthday photoshoot, you should bring multiple outfits to change into, as well as any blanket or stuffed animals or anything else they are attached to. You want this to be a memory of how they were in their first year of life. We also did a cake smash, so we had a disposable white plastic table cloth (to contain the mess), a cake stand and cake. (and lots of wipes!)

Valentines Themed Children Portraits for First Birthday

These pictures were taken in Cottonwood Studios in Saratoga Springs, Utah for her first birthday and cake smash. This studio is so well lit and a simple, super affordable option. During this time she had the option for a pink wall, which was perfect for this 1 year old girl's birthday pictures who was born in February, and has a eart shaped birthmark on her forehead! Mom wanted to do a valentines themed party and pictures so we taped heart balloons on the wall and used other props she had.

I love how indoor photography studios offer multiple backdrops and props in one space. Its a great way to shoot in the winter, or for something like this where you will want lots of different types of pictures.

Preparing for a newborn photography session in your home is all about creating a comfortable and nurturing environment where your baby can shine. With a little planning and preparation, you'll have cherished photographs that you'll treasure for years to come.

EAT BEFORE + BRING SNACKS + TREATS

Your kids will not do well on empty stomachs. Eat a meal before (in a change of clothes!) to help with hangry moods, plus bring snacks. Please do not bring colored snacks, things that get stuck in teeth, or are hard to chew and produce a lot of extra saliva, like suckers, goldfish, chocolate, gummy bears, etc. The best snacks to bring are pretzels, marshmallows, smarties, or cheerios. Now, here is the secret tip that will make a HUGE difference with how your children do: Do not bring out the sweet treats until half way through the session! Sometimes it helps to not even mention that you are bringing a sweet treat for them. Only give them cheerios or something similar in the beginning. Then when they start to really lose patience, thats when you bring out the treats and it will help them get through the last half! If you bring out the treats in the beginning, they will start off the session grumpier because they will just want more treats.

HAVE ALL ITEMS READY

Any outfits, blankets, hats, bows, etc. that you want to use should be out and ready for quick changing. The more we change baby, the more they will wake up. 2-3 outfits is a good amount. Its better to change out blankets and bows or hats to keep them sleepy.

CLEAN + DECLUTTER YOUR HOUSE

Find the rooms with the best lighting (typically master bedroom, nursery, livingroom), and have them clean and clutter free. Remove anything that is unnecessary and makes things look cluttered, like charging cables, tissue boxes, stacks of blankets, etc.

SMILE EVEN WHEN YOUR KIDS AREN'T

Yes, Photoshop works sometimes but not every time. If you try to keep a smile on your face the whole time, then we will get amazing pictures when your kids smile! Some sessions are spent trying to get the children to cheer up the entire time. In those cases, it is absolutely crucial that you keep a smile on your face and keep your energy high throughout the session! I still get amazing shots even with grumpy kids as long as the parents just pretend like nothing crazy is happening ;)

OFFER A BRIBE

This works great for kids 3 and up! Offer to get a treat after, a toy from the dollar store, or an actual dollar!

PLAY AND HAVE FUN

Your kids will feed off of your energy. Make this a fun experience for them by being happy and playful rather than scolding them. I've been doing this for a long time and the best results always come from families who play and giggle together.

Cottonwood Studio in Saratoga Springs Utah has been one of my favorite studios lately. Its in her home garage and the door has been converted to a clear plastic so the lighting is just gorgeous even when its darker and stormy outside.

I was so excited to use the props she already had inside of this studio, to take Brianna and her daughters christmas themed photos! I loved their matching pajamas and the cute stuffed gingerbread they brought! This studio also allows dogs so it was fun to include them in a bunch of photos too!

Utah County Photographer Vineyard

Wish you could take family pictures on the beach? This location in Vineyard, Utah will make you feel like you are on the coast! This spot also looks like the great salt lake at the great saltair building, but without the travel time or travel fees.

Fall Family Mini Sessions in November

This spot has a gravel parking lot, and you do need to walk down a flight of stairs to access the beach area. Mini photography sessions at this location do not have time to walk in the water, so if you love pictures in the water then I would book a full session! I loved the beautiful fall color we still had in early november!

I love this family and was so excited when Jenn asked me to do their family pictures ! When she mentioned she loved the great saltair but was hesitant about the travel fee, I knew exactly where to take her. This spot was perfect! We spend a lot of time playing in the water during the sunset and it was soooo perfect!

Things you need for a FULL family photography session at Vineyard Beach, Utah:
- A few towels
- Flip flops that can be easily cleaned
- Plastic bag for dirty shoes or towels
- Bug spray

Fall Family Pictures in Spanish Fork

Utah Family Photographer in Spanish Fork

Spanish Fork Field is one of my favorite spots for family photos with kids. These were taken during fall after the green grass has turned yellow. The wide open space, soft light, and mountain views make it perfect for your kids and dogs to run around. This is also close to my favorite location that has red rock! So if you like a good mix with your family photos, we can do half at this spot, and half at the red rocks.

Mini Session Photographer

As a Spanish Fork family photographer, I know how important it is to capture the kids individual pictures, mom and dad, whole group, mom with kids, dad with kids and little moments in between and Spanish Fork Field gives us the perfect backdrop to do just that. This was a mini session so our time was limited but we still got some great pictures!
