Studio Cake Smash Photoshoot
For a
first birthday photoshoot, you should bring multiple outfits to change into, as well as any blanket or stuffed animals or anything else they are attached to. You want this to be a memory of how they were in their first year of life. We also did a cake smash, so we had a disposable white plastic table cloth (to contain the mess), a cake stand and cake. (and lots of wipes!)

These pictures were taken in
Cottonwood Studios in Saratoga Springs, Utah for her first birthday and cake smash. This studio is so well lit and a simple, super affordable option. During this time she had the option for a pink wall, which was perfect for this 1 year old girl's birthday pictures.
I love how
indoor photography studios offer multiple backdrops and props in one space. Its a great way to shoot in the winter, or for something like this where you will want lots of different types of pictures.
